Wine and Food Supply Chain Council

There are great opportunities to make wine (and food in general) supply chains lean. This concept is associated with the world of manufacturing, where it was introduced by Toyota. But some of the same issues apply to supply chains, though in new and sometimes unexpected ways. The key issues we focus on for the wine-supply chain are: 1). Elimination of waste, 2). Management of process time variability, and 3).Synchronisation and alignment among the future and current consumption under weather and demand uncertainty .
