Moshiur Farazi – Outstanding Reviewer Award (CVPR) 2020

June 25th, 2020

Congratulations to our Postdoctoral Fellow Moshiur Farazi for being awarded the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) 2020 conference.

Moshiur Farazi

CVPR is the premier annual computer vision event comprising the main conference and several co-located workshops and short courses, held virtually this year.

Moshiur Farazi has recently joined our group as a CERC Postdoctoral Fellow. For his PhD at the Australian National University, he developed vision and language AI agents that can interact with humans by translating visual information from an image to perform downstream tasks such as describing what’s in the image, or answering intelligent questions about it.

Before moving to Australia, Moshuir did his Masters in Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He has worked with Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) in the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) and Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) to develop 3D model of the head and neck region from video fluoroscopy, MRI and CT images, for patients suffering with swallowing disorders (i.e., dysphagia).

He is an expert in developing deep neural networks for vision and language models, medical image processing and general-purpose ML/AI image processing algorithms.

Here is a list of all the awards’ recipients.

Well done, Moshiur!
