Project summary description:
IEA Hydrogen Task 45 is providing an update on renewable hydrogen production technologies generally. Subtask 2 is focused on “Photons to hydrogen”. It has 25 participants from 11 countries (2 participants from Australia). Photons to hydrogen refers to the use of sunlight to directly split water into hydrogen and oxygen without using electrical energy. The two main technologies are photoelectrochemical (PEC), and photocatalytic (PC) water-splitting. Subtask 2 will deliver current assessments of these technologies.
