Project summary description:
This project aims to investigate the use of high frequency vibrations to enhance electrochemical reactions whilst avoiding the use of expensive platinum-based catalysts. This project expects to generate new knowledge in the area of high frequency, acoustically driven fluidic systems and their novel utilisation in improving electrolysis efficiency. Expected outcomes of this project include prototypes for a new type of acoustically based electrolyser, particularly relevant to hydrogen-on-demand applications.
