Team Leader

Dr Cuong Tran is a Senior Research Scientist specialising in gut health. Dr Tran has published over 50 peer-reviewed research papers ranging from topics such gut microbiome and health, zinc nutrition as a potential therapy for inflamed conditions of the gut, non-invasive testing for gut health, and intestinal permeability. He is an author of two best-selling CSIRO gut health books, which have sold over 100,000 copies.

Team Members

Dr Sinead Golley is a Behavioural Scientist with expertise in the area of social-cognitive psychology, with specialised understanding of the drivers of health-related decisions and behaviours. Her research includes understanding the drivers of food choice, restrictive diets, and consumer acceptance of novel foods.

Ms Megan Rebuli is a Research Dietitian working across several areas of nutrition science, including public health nutrition interventions, health promotion, science communication, and clinical/community trials.

Collaborators

Professor Simon Barry is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide and the Robinson Research Institute; Chief Medical Scientist at the Women’ & Children’s Hospital; and VP CAR-T Manufacturing Research and Development at Carina Biotech. He has a background in molecular biology and is an expert in immunological defects giving rise to autoimmune diseases. His lab at the Women’s & Childrens Hospital partnered with CSIRO to administer and analyse the dual sugar test for intestinal permeability.

Dr Dep Huynh is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, and Clinical Research Fellow, with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Adelaide.
