Come along and engage with our evacuation modelling team and learn more about the range of decision support tools we offer.
The Castlemaine Emergency Response Expo brings together emergency services and government agencies to provide an all-in approach to emergency preparedness for Castlemaine. The Expo is hosted by Mount Alexander Shire Council and the Castlemaine SES Unit, in partnership with Victoria State Emergency Service, Country Fire Authority, Fire Rescue Victoria, Forest Fire Management Victoria and Victoria Police. Visit the stall “CSIRO-RMIT Evacuation Risk Modelling Project” to engage with our evacuation modelling team, learn more about our decision support tools, get hands-on experience with the tools through interactive demonstrations, and much more! This is a free community event where you will find:
- Information on how to prepare your property for flooding, storms and bushfire
- Presentations from first responders and emergency workers to help you prepare and deal with emergencies when they occur
- Fire trucks, police cars, rescue trucks, ambulances and lots more emergency vehicles and equipment
- Animal rescue and welfare organisations to give you advice on looking after your pets and native wildlife
- Equipment and resources for protecting your home and family
- Volunteers who can help you get involved locally, and
- Food, drinks, live entertainment and kids’ activities.
