AFAC Conference 2022

The application of the SEEKER tool was demonstrated at the AFAC22 Conference held on the 23rd of August 2022 by Dr Dhirendra Singh, Visiting Scientist at Data61.

CSIRO evacuation modelling team and representatives from RMIT University participated a bushfire evacuation workshop at Chewton, hosted by Mount Alexander Shire Council and the Country Fire Authority (CFA).

The team attended an evacuation workshop hosted by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES)

CSIRO's evacuation modelling team attended this workshop on June 15th, 2022, together with the representatives from a number of government agencies such as the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) and the Queensland State Emergency Service (SES). CSIRO's team offered insights into a potential evacuation scenario using the SEEKER tool.

Mock fires help hone emergency response

An emergency evacuation training exercise led by Forest Fire Management Victoria and Country Fire Authority was held at Incident Control Centre at Geelong on the 14th of December 2021. The usage of the Simulations of Emergency Evacuations for Knowledge, Education and Response (SEEKER) tool was tested at this event.
