Welcome to the team: Scarlett Raine – PhD student

Scarlett Raine has recently started her PhD at QUT, under the supervision of our Group Leader Dr Brano Kusy, along with Dr Frederic Maire (QUT), Dr Ross Marchant (QUT/CSIRO),  and Dr Niko Suenderhauf (QUT).

She is re-joining our team after having previously completed a Vacation Scholarship in deep learning for underwater marine surveys with our group.

Scarlett’s PhD will investigate self-supervised deep learning methods for detection of marine species in underwater imagery.

We are please to welcome her back into the team and see our vacation scholarship laying the path to her undertaking of a PhD candidature.
