Frank De Hoog wins Hannan Medal

Dr. Frank De Hoog, post-retirement fellow with the Distributed Sensing Systems Group, has just been awarded the 2017 Hannan medal from the Australian Academy of Science. The prestigious Hannan medal recognises research in the fields of statistical science, pure mathematics, applied mathematics and computational mathematics and is made in one of those three areas in turn at two-yearly intervals. The medal this year was for contributions to applied and computational mathematics.
