BLEAT: indoor localisation and tracking system – new dedicated website now live!

June 4th, 2020

We are pleased to announce the launch of a dedicated website for our BLEAT system.

BLEAT is an indoor localisation and tracking system for objects and people for the purposes of productivity improvement, advanced health and safety, and unprecedented knowledge of infrastructure utilisation through analytics.

BLEAT’s BEAcons and BLEtags hardware.

BLEAT is a first of its kind system, leveraging Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for on device location tracking and relaying location through battery powered BLE-LoRaWAN enabled beacons (BLEAcons).

This enables devices to compute and use their own location and communicate information through to the cloud even in environments where there may be no GPS, cellular or WiFi available.

BLEAT is capable of delivering useful (room-level) location accuracy throughout various infrastructure, offering:

  • Reduction in time lost locating objects and people.
  • Real-time alerting to staff and customers of  location specific hazards.
  • Real-time infrastructure insights to optimise planning, maintenance, cleaning, construction work, etc.

CSIRO’s Data61 is regularly seeking commercialisation partners to take our research and technologies and turn them into industrial applications.

Ynomia identified an industry need in the construction sector where BLEAT offered a solution that no existing solution had addressed (i.e. easily installed, wireless infrastructure, asset localisation on device for real-time local alerts and tracking to the cloud).

Our Embedded Intelligence team, part of CSIRO’s Data61 Distribute Sensing Systems Group, have a wealth of experience in creating extremely low power IoT and embedded solutions for sensing, tracking and compliance with novel research in embedded machine learning, energy harvesting sensing and classification, embedded regulatory technology and data trust for embedded/edge systems.

If you have an industry challenge or would like to partner with us to create a solution, please contact us.
