Collaboration with ANU

Deep Earth Imaging Future Science Platform (DEI FSP has just completed a pilot project exploration opportunities for engagement between the DEI FSP, CSIRO and the Seismology and Mathematical Geophysics team at the Australian National University (ANU).

The project was to engage with the postdoctoral fellows in areas of inversion and statistical algorithms.  Several postdocs from CSIRO DEI FSP visited the team at ANU, which has started an ongoing discussion and produced a publication paper already.

Malcolm Sambridge from ANU states “The plan for this project was to discover where the two teams had aligned research areas – and found a lot of common ground”.

The next stage of this project starting in the new financial year is being broadened into a larger three year project.
