Intelligent Network Operation
Data61 is using machine learning based data analytics techniques to generate optimum protocols, including reservoir operational protocols and chemical dosing strategies, to operate the Woronora Water System by reducing the energy cost and improving water quality of the entire network. The work will systematically study the impact of network operations on energy cost, water quality, and system feasibility (e.g. minimum water loss). Then key variables, such as demands, will be predicted for the optimisation of protocols. Both steps involve the historical records related to network running, including change of reservoir levels, status of pumps, flow meters, pressure gauges, valves, demands, and water quality data.
