Using a 3D laser scanner from a rooftop in Darwin

April 8th, 2021

This video shows a fly-through of data captured by a long range 3D laser scanner. It was taken from a rooftop of a building in Darwin’s CBD In December 2020. We can use this data to measure the rates of tree growth and mortality, and to model the shading and cooling effects of green spaces on the urban environment. This information will help monitor the greening of Darwin.
