First data release of the SWAG-X ASKAP Survey
The first data release for the Survey with ASKAP of GAMA-09+X-ray (SWAG-X) is now available. This data release comprises the first half of the full survey data, taken at 888 and 1296 MHz.
SWAG-X was initiated as a complementary ASKAP survey to the eROSITA X-Ray and Anglo-Australian Telescope spectroscopic observations of GAMA-09 field, to contribute to studies of cosmology and galaxy formation and evolution.
The full SWAG-X sensitivity will be achieved after 16 hours of integration at 888 and 1296 MHz at full spectral resolution, covering the same region as eROSITA Final Equatorial-Depth Survey Survey (eFEDS), see image below. In this first release, there are 12 ASKAP fields available, 6 tiles of 8 hours of integration in each band.
The released data can be accessed in CASDA searching under the project code “AS112”. Additional data products including combined continuum mosaics of the SWAG-X tiles and full field catalogues are being completed. The release of the second half of SWAG-X data is expected later this year.
A description paper of SWAG-X is in progress (Moss et al. in prep). For questions about SWAG-X please contact Vanessa Moss (SWAG-X lead, CSIRO Head of ASKAP Science Operations). For questions on how to access SWAG-X data please contact Minh Huynh (CASDA lead).
SWAG-X was made possible by a collaboration agreement between eROSITA_DE and Astronomy Australia Limited, in conjunction with CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency. More information on the release has also been published by Astronomy Australia Limited.
