Exchange of ideas to reduce plastic waste

Entrepreneurs with business ideas to reduce plastic waste joined together in a meet-and-greet in Ho Chi Minh City, an activity by the Plastic Innovation Hub Vietnam.

The event gave the entrepreneurs a chance to share their visions with a network of businesses, researchers and activists who have the same fondness for green growth. It was an ideal breeding ground for future partnerships and potential technologies or products that can tackle plastic waste – one of the biggest environmental challenges of our time.

Previously, these environment conscious minds had taken part in a 4-week training course designed to help them develop their ideas into impact-driven ventures.

The #PlasticsHubVietnam is an initiative of our Aus4Innovation program and part of Australia’s national science agency – #CSIRO’s – Ending Plastic Waste Mission. Founded in June this year, the Vietnam Hub is a vehicle for collaboration, bringing together local communities and governments, businesses and investors to undertake action-based projects to reduce the impact of plastic waste.
