Synopsis
Food and agribusiness is a key growth sector for the Australian economy. The Department of Industry, Innovation and Science plays an important role in working across government, and with the food and agribusiness sector—including the Food and Agribusiness Growth Centre (Food Innovation Australia Limited)—to foster an environment that supports the competitiveness, productivity and innovative capacity of the sector. Key policy issues currently facing the sector include how to lift levels of collaboration, improving the translation of research into commercial outcomes, and removing regulatory barriers to innovation.
