CSIRO UltraFine+ Next Gen Team
The UltraFine+ Research Team combines the expertise of scientists, engineers and technicians from a multidisciplinary background.
The Team’s objective is to deliver the next generation of laboratory soil analyses and landscape modelling tools for mineral explorers.
Ryan Noble
- Dr Ryan Noble is a Senior Principal Scientist and Group Leader at CSIRO Mineral Resources working on soil and water chemistry applied to mineral exploration. In the UltraFine+ Next Gen project Ryan provided strategic direction for the project and worked on collaboration between stakeholders, while also contributing soil science and applied interpretation of the results.

Anicia Henne
- Dr Anicia Henne is a Research Scientist at CSIRO Mineral Resources working on regolith science related to mineral exploration in, through and below cover. As part of the UltraFine+ project Anicia provided interpretation of results for industry, QAQC of processes and design, and guided the development of the workflow, coordinating the multidisciplinary approaches needed for the project.

Dave Cole
- Dr Dave Cole is a Senior Research Engineer at CSIRO Data61 with an interest in large scale systems of automation, data fusion, and predictive modelling. As part of the UltraFine+ Analytics team Dave developed machine learning workflows integrating geospatial datasets with UltraFine+ soil samples to provide a more detailed context for interpretation.

Morgan Williams
- Dr Morgan Williams is a geochemist and data scientist at CSIRO Mineral Resources using multimodal datasets to provide predictive analytics for mineral exploration. In the UltraFine+ project, Morgan worked with the analytics team to develop workflows for QAQC and integration of UltraFine+ with spatial data to create landscape context for soil samples.
- Primary EmailMorgan.Williams@csiro.au
Ian Lau
- Dr Ian Lau is a remote sensing spectral regolith geologist at CSIRO Mineral Resources working on optical satellite calibration and validation, atmospheric aerosol instrumentation, HyLogger instrumentation and soil spectroscopy. In the UltraFine+ project Ian developed the NIR spectral measurement technique and has worked with the team on spectral quality control, FTIR measurements and related products.
- Primary EmailIan.Lau@csiro.au
John Hille
- John Hille is a Senior Software Engineer at CSIRO Mineral Resources specialising in web, collaboration and cloud technologies. As part of the UltraFine+ project, John worked with the analytics team to integrate multidisciplinary soil analytical results and raw data, geospatial data and machine learned outputs into a coherent database to enable deeper data interrogation.
- Primary Emailjohn.hille@csiro.au
Bobby Pejcic
- Dr Bobby Pejcic is a Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO Mineral Resources who has research interests in analytical chemistry, materials chemistry and geochemistry. As part of the UltraFine+ project, he was responsible for leading the development of FTIR spectroscopy in characterising and understanding the ultrafine soil chemistry in relation to mineralogy and organic content.
- Primary EmailBobby.Pejcic@csiro.au
Tenten Pinchand
- Ms Tenten Pinchand is a Senior Research Technician at CSIRO Mineral Resources specialising in regolith and plant samples and provides all things related to sample preparation, field work, sample organisation and analysis. For the UltraFine+ project this involved the initial test separations and collection of pXRF, XRD and spectral analyses.
