Future of Sydney Scenarios

The Common Planning Assumptions Group (CPAG) was established to facilitate collaboration between New South Wales Government agencies that generate and use data for long term planning. This scenario planning project was led by Sydney Water and CSIRO on behalf of the CPAG. The four plausible future states of the city identified in this report build on previous scenario development work done at a national and state level, and were developed in consultation with government agencies involved in planning, academics, community groups, and organisations responsible for providing oversight and advice of infrastructure planning such as Infrastructure New South Wales and the Greater Sydney Commission.
