Industrial Regions Network
Alongside our partners, Towards Net Zero is creating a two-way learning network to connect our regions on the ground, so they can lean into the ecosystem and learn from other regions, experts, industries, and communities.
The Net Zero transition is taking place in regions all around Australia, particularly those reliant on Australia’s hard-to-abate industries. With so many regions transitioning we need new ways of working together to align efforts and avoid fragmentation.
We know that regions want to engage with those already transitioning to net zero to understand what is working, where, when, for who, and why.
Frameworks for a just and equitable transition
We need to build national understanding about different net zero transitions and what they look like in different regions. In doing so, we can capture those learnings so they can be used in future, as the foundations of change for new regions. This way, each region can design and tailor their own transition pathways, to best suit their communities.
These learnings will then be fed up through Government to understand the opportunities and challenges our regions are facing, so that governments can support sustainable growth opportunities for our regions, communities and businesses.
