Tell us a bit about yourself?

I’ve been working as a software engineer on web applications since 2017. I finished my Masters degree in 2019 majoring in machine learning and data science, and came on board to Data61 at the start of 2020. My expertise includes web application development, data science and engineering, and software development best practices. At Data61 I’ve had the opportunity to work on a web application to assess the re-identification risk within datasets, a collaboration with CSIRO energy to apply privacy-preserving techniques to energy systems, and a CRCP project with industry to apply privacy preserving techniques to real-world online datasets.

What gets you excited about your work/projects?

My team at Data61 is the most motivated group of individuals I have ever worked with. Everyone is incredibly passionate and interested in the work they are doing, and are always happy to talk about and share what they have discovered. The projects we work on are fascinating and are on the cutting edge of research. Information security and privacy utilises an intersection of many complex and interesting fields and draws from many different areas of research. I consider myself very lucky to be able to be involved in such engaging and unique projects.
