PhD Opportunity – plant pathology, epidemiology, and agricultural ecology
We’re excited to share a fully-funded PhD opportunity within our team, offered through CSIRO’s Industry PhD (iPhD) Program — part of an Australian Government initiative to bridge academic research with real-world impact.
This project sits at the intersection of plant pathology, epidemiology, and agricultural ecology, exploring the ecological drivers of disease spread in horticultural tree crops. It involves hands-on fieldwork in the beautiful Northern Rivers region of NSW, combined with lab-based investigations, providing a well-rounded research experience.

PhD Opportunity – social science, sustainable food and agricultural systems
Join the Pest READI project team and undertake a PhD with a leading team of researchers.
This scholarship supports outstanding social science researchers who are passionate about helping farmers reduce pesticide use and develop more sustainable food and agricultural systems.
The scholarship is available to eligible candidates to undertake a direct entry three-year PhD program. Awards will only be available to applicants who, at the time of the application qualify as domestic students (ie are Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents). Candidates should have a background in the social sciences, such as sociology or human geography, or a closely related discipline and be willing to learn and work with both qualitative and quantitative data.
- a tuition fee offset/scholarship
- a living allowance stipend.
- the value of each stipend scholarship is $38,500 per annum (full time, indexed) for three years.
