Xinbo Ban, PhD Student

I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science (CS) at the Swinburne University of Technology and Data61|CSIRO, Australia. under the supervision of Ming Ding, I am working on the analysis of privacy and security for software and systems, specifically on emerging computing platforms and cyber-physical environments in which they operate. Through system simulation and program analysis, my research seeks to improve privacy and security guarantees in the IoT ecosystem. My research interests mainly include:

  • Software Vulnerability Analysis
  • IoT Security and privacy
Michal Kepkowski, PhD Student

I am a PhD student in Computer Security at Macquarie University and Data61 CSIRO, Australia. With my PhD advisors Mohamed Ali (Dali) Kaafar (Macquarie University), Hassan Asghar (Macquarie University), and Dinusha Vatsalan (Data61 CSIRO), I am working on an evaluation of modern authentication protocols. I am focusing on the security and privacy aspects of the biometric, passwordless, and multi-factor authentication mechanisms, and their application in the industry. I am researching the technical and usability challenges of strong authentication and their impact on individuals and organizations. My research interests include multi-factor authentication, passwordless authentication, biometric authentication, privacy-preserving authentication, and usability aspects of authentication.

imkhan Nan Wu, PhD Student

Nan Wu received the B.S. degrees (Hons.) in electronic and communication systems from The Australian National University, Australia, in 2015, and also from the Beijing Institute of Technology, China, in 2016, and the M.Res. degree in computer science from Macquarie University, Australia, in 2019. She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with Macquarie University. She is also with CSIRO’s Data61. Her research interests include privacy-preserving machine learning, privacy in data matching, security and privacy, and game theory.
