Research

We span the quantum, classical and macroscale length scales, developing and employing physics based modelling, statistical methods and machine learning to diverse problems ranging from quantum chemistry and biomolecular modelling to granular behaviour and industrial machine scale simulations.

Our research directly supports the CSIRO missions with projects into hydrogen separation and greenhouse gas mitigation, viral protein modelling for testing future vaccine efficacy and industrial modelling and process optimizations for clients such as Boeing and in support of Industry 4.0.

Quantum technologies such as quantum computing promises to be a disruptive technological paradigm shift.  In additional to the development of the CSIRO Molecular Quantum Monte Carlo (CMQMC) code, researchers are looking at future applications of new algorithmic approaches to existing problems.
