Invertebrate ecology and pest management
Over the course of the project, Dr Michael Nash will be providing information about invertebrates interaction with mixed species farming systems and integrated pest management.
Seed Treatments
Seed treatments are commonly applied to protect seedlings from various pests and diseases. Information is provided on:
- Grazing withholding periods.
- Impacts on beneficial invertebrates.
- Plant effects of commonly applied insecticides and fungicides.
We provide a case study detailing how small changes to management can be incorporated into an integrated pest management approach to successfully establish canola. The next step is to incorporate this information into farming systems that include cover crops.
