Beyond Borders: People, Plastic and Pollution

Denise was honoured to be asked to participate as a panellist in a fantastic panel event at the Swedish embassy on Friday 13 May, 2022. The Beyond Borders: People, Plastic and Pollution event was moderated by Plastic Free July Founder Rebecca Prince-Ruiz. The panel included Vikas Ahuja from Tetrapak, Jennie Mallela from ANU, and Pip Kiernan, the chair of Cleanup Australia. ANU students had prepared two interactive art installations.

This event was for the Embassy of Sweden to engage Australian stakeholders in dialogue on plastic pollution – an environmental issue of significant importance. It was an important preliminary conversation prior to the the Stockholm+50, an important UN-mandated international environmental meeting, which will be held in Stockholm, Sweden in June this year.
