Australian Coastal Restoration Symposium – 2024
On the 28th and 29th of May 2024 the Australian Coastal Restoration Network held their third symposium: Nature Repair of Australasian Marine and Coastal Ecosystems in Sydney.
The symposium was attended by five CSIRO staff and one student from the restoration community of practice. This included Megan Saunders (network leader of the ACRN), Ana Bugnot, Maria Vozzo, Leah Soo, Lauren Hardiman and Shawnee Gorringe a CSIRO-JCU Indigenous Science Experience Placement student.
They presented on the following:
- Leah Soo and Lauren Hardiman – The restoration potential of Environmentally Friendly Moorings (EFMs)
- Maria Vozzo – Identifying spatial dependencies of cross-habitat facilitative processes to achieve scaled seascape restoration
- Megan Saunders and Ana Bugnot – Discussion: Marine and Coastal Nature Repair Workshop
- Megan Saunders – An Ecological Knowledge System for the Nature Repair Market
