This Project aims to improve NatHERS Whole of Home ratings by developing mathematical models for heating and cooling appliances. Expected outcomes are an assessment of various heating and cooling appliances and insights into the most appropriate heating and cooling solutions tailored to specific climate zones. The potential benefit is to enhance the overall energy efficiency and thermal comfort of residential spaces nationwide.

Ideal student skillset | Essential Bachelor’s Degree with First Class Honours or Second Class Honours (Division A) at an Australian University or equivalent in engineering. Fulfillment of entry requirements for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at UniSA. Proficiency in HVAC appliances and control mechanisms. Programming background with Fortran or C++. Desirable Master’s by research degree or prior experience in research projects. Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Experience in mathematical modelling, particularly in building energy modelling. |
