A critical skill for AMC participants is effective communication. Module 1 honed in on this skill by focusing our last day’s activities on idea development and communication skills. The task was challenging: 1) forms teams of three to develop a mini-project idea; 2) develop a 2-minute pitch; 3) vote on your preferred ideas; 4) form mini-project teams; 5) re-form the idea; 6) re-pitch for another 2 minutes.

By the end of the day, 15 participants managed to apply their skills on concise communication. A 360 degree-feedback loop was provided. Resource persons and the audience commented on pitches, so that teams have room to improve and build.

Not for the faint-hearted, but the AMC participants took it on without batting an eyelid. Danny Apostol stole the limelight with the biggest applause for his pitch; we think he’s on the right track having set up a farm school.
