Upskilling for Generative AI Adoption
Generative AI is transforming the way we work. There is strong evidence that workers using generative AI tools achieve both productivity and quality improvements.
The flexibility of these tools means that they can be integrated into workflows at multiple stages and in multiple ways. But even the most advanced AI tools require human oversight. We offer training and professional development to upskill workers on generative AI and the responsible use of these tools.
Generative AI Training
AI Upskilling
This training introduces the basics of generative AI tools, highlighting their benefits, risks and ways of managing them. To support productive and appropriate use of generative AI tools, we cover both prompting techniques and metacognitive skills (planning, monitoring and evaluating when working with AI). Key principles are reinforced through practical exercises that give participants practice using Microsoft Copilot in a range of writing and data wrangling exercises.
Human AI Workflows
This training introduces participants to more specialised generative AI tools. We walk-through a workflow analysis to illustrate how to identify where these tools can augment your work, improve decision making or boost productivity. Finally, innovative applications of generative AI are showcased to spark ideas about ways of using these tools to enhance service delivery and product offerings.
Training format
- The training is designed for cohorts of knowledge workers (in either the public or private sector) who are starting to engage with generative AI tools
- Training is delivered online, facilitated by a team of CSIRO researchers
- Approximately 20 people per session
- Each training session is three hours
- Please talk to us about how we can tailor our training for your organisation.
Who we are
Our multidisciplinary research team brings a combination of social and technical expertise to support AI upskilling, workflow analysis and redesign of product and service delivery processes.
We work across government, industry and society to ensure that technology adoption is aligned with human needs, values and organisational contexts.
