The weather station at Forest Hill has been designed to provide information on a range of weather and soil variables in support of research undertaken on the research station. Measurements include:
- Rainfall
- Incoming total shortwave solar radiation
- Outgoing total shortwave radiation (reflected from the ground surface)
- Incoming atmospheric longwave radiation
- Outgoing longwave radiation (emitted from the ground surface)
- Atmospheric air pressure
- Air temperature
- Air humidity
- Wind speed (average and gust) and direction at 3m and 10m height
- Soil temperature at 10cm, 50cm and 100cm depth
- Soil water content at 10cm, 50cm and 100cm depth
- All data are recorded at 1min intervals. Data from each sensor are available from our weather data dashboard.
