CSIRO’s Meat Working Group

As Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO is one of the largest and most diverse scientific research organisations in the world. Our research focuses on the biggest challenges facing the nation. We’re helping producers and processors improve quality and sustainability of livestock products such as meat and wool into the future.

We’re also working on the development and testing of new technologies with potential to improve the efficiency, sustainability and cost effectiveness of red meat processing.

CSIRO’s meat-aligned R&D capabilities work on food safety and quality, new product opportunities, value-adding, extending shelf-life, packaging materials, traceability, ethical processing and animal welfare.
