Sub-project 3 – July 2019

The sub-project 3 team held a ‘Decision support tools’ workshop in Canberra in May, attended by staff from state, territory and Commonwealth governments, CSIRO and AHA. Participants heard the draft results from the first phase of simulation modelling of outbreak scenarios, such as how vaccination could be used to help manage large outbreaks of FMD. Using new data visualisation tools from the sub-project, participants explored the data and provided insights into how the results could be used to support the development of control strategies.

Work is now underway to address the feedback received from government stakeholders and to enhance the capacity to analyse the economic impacts of outbreaks simulated in AADIS. Preparations are also underway for the broader government-industry stakeholder workshop to be held later in 2019.
