Fiji

Gautam Gautam
- Ashodra Gautam is a pharmacist and the immediate National AMR coordinator in Fiji responsible for coordinating the implementation of the national action plan on AMR. She is also the secretary of the national AMR committee. Ashodra coordinates in-country research activities in collaboration with NARC. Ashodra also takes a leading role in the monitoring, evaluation and learning activities.

Prof Paul Iji
- Prof Paul Iji is a professor of animal nutrition and the current Dean of the College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Paul supports animal health research activities in Fiji and represents the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on the NARC.

Vingelle Jimenez
- Vingelle Jimenez is a veterinarian and the current head of the veterinary school. Vingelle coordinates animal health related research activities at the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and co-supervises students as required.

Dr Beato Lenoa
- Dr Beato Lenoa is a senior veterinary officer at the Ministry of Agriculture in charge of western division. Beato, who is a University of Queensland alumni, supports animal health research activities and co-supervises students as required.

Dr Keresi Lomata
- Dr Keresi Lomata is a senior veterinary officer at the Ministry of Agriculture in Fiji. Keresi did her veterinary medicine degree at the University of Queensland and has a lot of experience in large animal practise. Keresi is currently the acting director of the Fiji Veterinary Pathology laboratory. Keresi leads the animal health research activities in Fiji as well as laboratory capacity building. Keresi also represents the Ministry of Agriculture on the NARC and co-supervises students.

Dr Royford Magiri
- Dr Royford Magiri is a veterinarian by background and has just been employed as a veterinary microbiologist at the College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry at FNU. Royford has recently completed a PhD in veterinary microbiology from University of Saskatchewan in Canada. Prior to that Royford was a clinical microbiology lecturer at the University of Nairobi veterinary school, clinical services department.

Dr Ravi Naidu
- Dr Ravi Naidu is a medical doctor and infectious disease specialist in Fiji. Ravi works as a physician and a consultant at the Colonial War Memorial hospital. Also, Ravi is the national AMR sub-committee chairperson on antimicrobial stewardship. Ravi leads the antimicrobial stewardship activities in hospitals and participates in the epidemiology and economics research, and also co-supervises students if needed.

Dr Eric Rafai
- Dr Eric Rafai is a medical doctor and a renowned epidemiologist in Fiji. Eric is the current head of research, innovation and data management in Fiji as well as the chairperson of national AMR committee. Previously, Eric was the deputy secretary of public health and was involved in various neglected tropical diseases initiatives. Eric represents NARC in the project, supports research activities and co-supervise students. Eric is responsible for the data management component of the project ensuring that information is well stored in Fiji, the messages are appropriate, and privacy maintained where required. Eric oversees the in-country innovation activities (i.e. diagnostics and data integration).

Dr Aalisha Sahukhan
- Aalisha Sahukhan is a medical doctor and the current head of Fiji’s Centre for Disease Control, Mataika house. She coordinates laboratory activities at Mataika house and participates in AMR research activities.

Dr Josiah Tiko
- Dr Josiah Tiko is a medical doctor in charge of the Eastern region. Josiah coordinates AMR surveillance activities in Fiji, participates in the epidemiology and economics research, and co-supervises students if needed.

Dr Donald Wilson
- Dr Donald Wilson is a medical doctor and has vast experience in conducting public health research. Donald is currently the associate Dean for Research at FNU. He leads epidemiology and public health research activities in Fiji and co-supervises students if required.

Dr Numa Vera
- Dr Numa Vera is a pharmacist and the current head of pharmacy school at FNU. Numa has vast experience in conducting public health research and she supports antimicrobial use research activities in Fiji as well as co-supervises students if required.
