Geodata inference
Inference and inversion methods have typically only been developed for geophysical data with the aim of obtaining static images of the subsurface and in few cases of changes in the subsurface. An enormous opportunity exits around developing methods to infer processes from geodata such as geochemical observations employing the advanced forward solvers we are developing.
Much of our research around developing inference methods takes place with in the context of InLab, short for Inference Laboratory, a collaboration between the Deep Earth Imaging future Science Platform and the Research School of Earth Sciences at the National Australian University – https://inlab.edu.au
