New publication: Predicting permeability and fluid flow in sedimentary basins
Permeability plays a key role in controlling fluid pathways through sedimentary basins. Quantifying permeability can be challenging: it tends to be anisotropic, and can vary by orders of magnitude over short distances due to sedimentary facies variations.
Our open-access article published in Basin Research describes a method for quantifying and predicting this complexity, and demonstrates how the resulting permeability distribution can be used in fluid flow simulations.
This new workflow can be used to predict fluid pathways in sediment-hosted mineral systems.
