TraNSIT harnesses big data to help improve infrastructure and save millions.

CSIRO’s Transport Network Strategic Investment Tool (TraNSIT) helps government and industry make informed infrastructure decisions on how to move millions of tonnes of agricultural and forest products across Australia each year.

The tool brings together data to provide the most detailed map of routes and costings, directly informing over $15 billion of infrastructure – including the proposed Melbourne to Brisbane Inland Rail project. It has also been applied in Vietnam and Indonesia.
