Title: Exploring the use of NLP in Human Centric Security

 
Bio: Vimal Kumar is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Waikato where he leads the Cyber Security Lab (CROW). He works broadly in the area of cybersecurity and collaborates with many national and international researchers on various government and industry funded projects. Notable projects he is working on currently are the NZ Govt funded AI for Human Centric Security EU Jean Monet Networks’ Cyberdipomacy. He is also the convenor of the Master of Cyber Security program at the University of Waikato which attracts many domestic and international students and a member of the Institute for Security and Crime Science. https://www.cs.waikato.ac.nz/~vkumar/
 
Abstract: In this seminar I will talk about the work we are doing in the CROW lab at the University of Waikato in the area of Human Centric Security. I will focus especially on the opportunities, challenges and pitfalls of the usage of Natural Language Processing in conveying security information such as configurations to stakeholders.
