Frequently Asked Questions

What is data classification?

Data classification is the processes of assessing data or information for characteristics or risk and attaching a label or meta data to the data to convey that assessment.
For example, business might classify data or information as “confidential”. Data might contain private personal information and so have a “Private” label attached. Of course, we’ve heard of the “top secret” label used by many governments around the world. The process of arriving at the label is data classification.
