Collection Collaboration

Overview | Steps to collaborate on a collection | Uploading files | After publication

Overview

Once a CSIRO depositor nominates you as a collaborator on a draft DAP collection, you will be able to access the draft collection to view the metadata, files and images. If the depositor checks the box to allow data upload, you will also be able to add files and images.

Steps to collaborate on a draft collection

For CSIRO staff and affiliates

  1. Log into the DAP
  1. Click on “My Collections”
  1. If you have been added as a collaborator, the draft collection will appear with the status “Draft – shared”
  1. You can filter your collections by status by clicking on the Status drop down menu and selecting “Draft – shared”. These are all the draft collections where another depositor has added you as a collaborator.
  1. Click on the collection title. The collection will open on the landing page where you can view the metadata, or click on the “Files” and “Image Gallery” tabs where you can download any files.

For external collaborators

For external collaborators, your CSIRO collaborator will provide you with a direct link to the DAP collection. To access the collection:

  1. Log into the DAP.
  2. Click the link you have been sent.
  3. The collection will open on the landing page where you can view the metadata, or click on the “Files” and “Image Gallery” tabs where you can download any files.

Uploading files

You can only upload files to the collection if you are CSIRO or an affiliate and the depositor has granted this permission. If this has happened you will see a “S3 File Transfer Details” button on the “Files” tab. Click on this button to open the S3 transfer screen and begin an S3 file upload/transfer.

If the “Download” button is showing, the depositor has not granted access to upload files.

After publication

Collaborators are not automatically given access to published collections, only to draft collections. If collaborators need to be able to access a collection that won’t be publicly accessible after publication, then they will need to be made specified users and added to the access list for that collection.
