Trustworthy Software Systems in Fog and Cloudlet Architectures

Data61, DSTG NGTF, University of Adelaide
Partners: Prof Ali Babar

The aim of the project is identification of opportunities for long-term investment in software architectural resilience research for trustworthy software systems, to inform decision-making on future research to maximise impact. The goals of the project are as follows:

  • Conduct a literature review of software architectural resilience for Fog and Cloudlet Architectures
  • Identify and describe aspects of Fog and Cloudlet Architecture resilience, characterise the maturity of extant research on those aspects and describe the potential outcomes of future research investment in each area. Consider scope for benefit beyond Fog and Cloudlet Architecture resilience.
  • Map the academic community that is conducting research relevant to Fog and Cloudlet Architecture resilience to identify applicable research partners in Australian and international academia for each identified research area.
  • Develop options for future investment in software architectural resilience.

The project deliverable in this financial year is:

  • Report on the opportunities, required research, most applicable university partners and suggested approach to future investment.
