We repaired a casting without any digital files!
In this video, we show how we used Continuous3D to scan an engine block, create a robot program, add metal and then machine back the surface. Writing a robot program to build up an even layer of cold spray metal, without depositing material all over the place would probably have taken many days of programming and testing. With Continuous3D, this process happens in minutes. Even better, we were then able to rescan the casting after cold spray had been performed using the laser scanner mounted on the robot, to determine how much machining needed to happen afterwards. Cold spray and machining work were performed by our expert cold sprayer, Andrew Urban.
