Our work presented and published at IEEE ROMAN conference
31 Aug 2023
We are delighted to share that our paper titled “Measuring Situational Awareness Latency in Human-Robot Teaming Experiments” was presented and published at the IEEE ROMAN 2023 conference (IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication). IEEE ROMAN is a leading forum where state-of-the-art innovative results, the latest developments, and future perspectives relating to robot and human interactive communication are presented and discussed.
Our paper presents an investigation of how two types of Situational Awareness Latencies (perceptual and comprehending) are affected by task context and correlate with eye movement features collected during a remote human-robot field experiment, where a human supervisor directed a team of robots in a smart farming context. Our findings can be extended to estimate the real-time likelihood of the human experiencing situational awareness latency, in turn, to improve human-robot collaboration.
