AI -enhanced learning: How can new tools build real-world skills?
Claire Mason, the CINTEL FSP Leader for Skills for Collaborative Intelligence, recently participated in a stimulating panel discussion on ‘AI-enhanced learning: How can new tools build real-world skills?‘ at Times Higher Education Campus Live ANZ.
Panel participants from Newcastle University, La Trobe University and CSIRO’s CINTEL FSP shared their experiences using generative AI to support students’ learning, their own teaching practice and high impact research. The panel also highlighted challenges such as keeping up with the proliferation of generative AI tools, understanding the value of human domain expertise when working with (increasingly knowledgeable) generative AI tools and learning when working with generative AI tools. Listening to a generative AI-created podcast (created in a matter of minutes from a few documents) was just one of the provocations offered by the panel.
They look forward to revisiting the discussion (and progress with generative AI) again next year. Refer https://www.timeshighered-events.com/live-anz-2024/agenda/session/1358512
