Vietnam National AI strategy up and running

Given the inevitable role that artificial intelligence (AI) will play in Vietnam’s Future Digital Economy, Australia – through its #Aus4Innovation program – has been supporting Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology to publicize Vietnam’s National Strategy on AI. The ambitious goals put forward by the strategy will put Vietnam in ASEAN’s top four, and world’s top 50 countries for research, development and application of AI by 2030.

Yesterday, Aus4Innovation and Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology organised a workshop on the data and computing infrastructure required to support AI development. The event brought together top experts from knowledge institutes and enterprises as well as the Vietnamese AI community. This is the first of a series of five workshops that will take place until September to disseminate and support the implementation of the strategy.
