How AI Accelerator teams see the future of AI in Vietnam
Five Vietnamese artificial intelligence start-ups with innovative ideas and products are putting their ideas to the test as part of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Accelerator Challenge 2021.
The AI Accelerator Challenge seeks to support Vietnam’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and to help foster the development of a vibrant AI start-up environment.
We challenged teams to imagine the year is 2045 and to describe the impact AI is having on everyday life in Vietnam. Their responses highlight that the future opportunities for AI in Vietnam are truly limitless.
Through initiatives like the AI Accelerator Challenge, the Aus4Innovation program is helping unlock those possibilities.

Open allClose allIn 2045, farmers can use AI to determine the optimal date to sow crops, precisely allocate resources such as water and fertilizer, identify crop diseases for swifter treatment, and detect and destroy weeds. Machine learning makes these activities smarter over time. It can also help farmers forecast the year ahead by using historical production data, long-term weather forecasts, genetically modified seed information, and commodity pricing predictions, among other inputs, to recommend how much seed to sow.
Farmers without connectivity can get AI benefits right now, with tools as simple as an SMS-enabled phone and the Sowing App. Meanwhile, farmers with Wi-Fi access can use AI applications to get a continually AI-customised plan for their lands. With such IoT and AI-driven solutions, farmers can meet the world’s needs for increased food sustainably growing production and revenues without depleting precious natural resources.
In the future, AI will help farmers evolve into agricultural technologists, using data to optimise yields down to individual rows of plants.
AI will no longer be a separate high-tech industry but will be integrated into many aspects of business and life. Working inside the natural language understanding (NLU) technology industry and offering customer experience solutions, we are confident that AI will go beyond simple pattern matching. With the ability to process massive volumes of data in real-time, instead of discovering the same pattern, AI in the next 24 years will find the differences in each person and understand each person as a unique individual.
AI could autonomously learn to understand as well as reason about the world in the way that humans do. To be able to process complex customer experience tasks, AI will have to understand that there are no simple right or wrong answers, but rather various multiple intents and implications. Artificial intelligence will become less artificial and more emotional intelligence.
We forecast that over the next 10 years, the average person will have more discussions with conversational AI bots than with humans. Every person, just like “Tony Stark”, has their own Virtual Assistant to help them from scheduling an appointment to drafting a contract. Humans give the command, and the bot will process the data or even operate as our agents on our behalf to help us get things done. All of this, however, does not imply that AI will eventually replace humans. It will offer us more time to concentrate on the strategic plan, which will have a significant influence on the community and our family. In fact, we anticipate AI to be active collaborators with humans.
We envision all the future Vietnamese kids in the next 25 years will have a much better online environment when almost all harmful content is filtered on the Internet. Also, maybe there will no longer be police on the streets as AI can detect the violated activities or wanted criminals and sends them to the police. Maybe, autonomous cars will be increasingly used at that time.
With AI, people will have better life both in working and in daily life. People will work smarter using AI devices, which can give us the best solutions to problems and save energy for doing repetitive tasks. AI can be applied to various fields such as robotics, finance, entertainment, health, education, especially in the field of technology. In the near future, with the rapid growth rate, AI will also be able to do creative things and think/ act like a human. With the information processing speed and creativity, AI has the ability to help people make breakthroughs in all fields.
Artificial Intelligence has found key applications in many areas of life, creating a breakthrough for socioeconomic development, and becoming a new standard for countries to measure against each other.
