First step for Plastic Innovation Hub Vietnam
In preparation for the #Aus4Innovation launch of the Plastic Innovation Hub Vietnam later this month, the governance team just had its first offline meet-and-greet at the Australian Embassy, hosted by Ambassador Robyn Mudie.
The Plastic Innovation Hub Vietnam will support disruptive innovation, nurture and promote new ideas, and scale-up deep tech solutions to address plastic waste – one of the biggest environmental challenges of our time.
Vietnam has set a goal to reduce the flow of plastics into the ocean by 75 per cent by 2030, with an upcoming nationwide ban on single-use plastics by 2025. This aligns with the Ending Plastic Waste mission undertaken by the Australian Government, which is now spreading beyond the borders, firstly with a Plastic Innovation Hub in Indonesia, and now arriving in Vietnam.
