Last week, the University of Law (Vietnam National University) hosted an insightful discussion on “Responsible Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare”, supported by our Aus4Innovation program. Led by the insightful Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Que Anh, this workshop was all about steering AI towards ethical and social good in healthcare.

With the brilliant minds from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Science and Technology, and various AI and medical experts coming together, the aim was clear – to carve out ethical principles for AI that prioritize human welfare, safety, transparency, and fairness.

From tackling biases in AI to ensuring its responsible application in surgeries and diagnostics, the workshop offered deep insights and fostered vital conversations. It’s thrilling to see Vietnam moving towards ethical AI, emphasizing the importance of humanity in tech advancements.

We are looking forward to a future where technology heals, respects, and uplifts everyone!

During the workshop, experts emphasized that while legal regulations are essential, they alone are not sufficient to keep pace with the rapid advancement of AI technology. To effectively promote responsible AI in Vietnam, it is crucial to establish ethical principles and detailed implementation guidelines. These should be informed by international best practices while being deeply rooted in Vietnamese context and experiences.
