Life-saving made easier with technology’s assistance
Search and rescue (SAR) – the search for lost, missing or otherwise endangered people to provide medical aid and bring them to safety – is both an important and a risky job. When a catastrophe strikes, rescue workers are the first to arrive on the scene. They are exposed to all kinds of risks while working in a hazardous environment or adverse weather and under time pressure. But technology can help with that.
The UTS: University of Technology Sydney and Le Quy Don Technical University, with funding from Aus4Innovation, has implemented a project to develop a system with real-time remote sensing and unmanned aerial surveillance together with simulation training for different SAR scenarios. The project has completed a pilot in Hoa Binh province and transferred the technology to Le Quy Don University for further replication.

The drone incorporate with AI tech to assist with identifying missing people and valuable properties in search and rescue missions.

The technology and necessary equipment were introduced to students at Le Quy Don Technical University.
