Beyond the fenceline | An area wide approach to weed management

August 11th, 2022

One thing all farms have in common is weeds. Growers across cropping, horticulture and viticulture are participating in a project which is busting down borders, bringing neighbours together to tackle weeds. The collaborative project, called “Area Wide Management for cropping systems weeds”, is taking a unique approach to traditional weed control by collaborating beyond fence lines with varying land users across three pilot regions; the Sunraysia, Darling Downs and Murrumbidgee irrigation areas. In this video, we hear from growers and researchers from the Sunraysia region about how this cross-industry weed management is helping local growers stop the spread of weeds, and improving data on local herbicide resistance.
