The WorkspaceInput operation (counterpart of the WorkspaceOutput operation) represents data coming in to the workflow from the outside. The operation is very similar to the Variable operation, the only difference being that if the WorkspaceInput operation exists inside a nested Workspace operation, it will be correspond to an input on that workspace operation, and it will share its data with it. Note that WorkspaceInput and WorkspaceOutput operations can be created on a workflow by right clicking any input and selecting the "Create Workspace input / output" option in the presented context menu.
